Bütçe Açıkları İle Enflasyon Arasındaki İlişki ve Türkiye Üzerine Bir İnceleme

Abstract

The relationship between the budget deficit and inflation has been widely discussed in macroeconomics literature. The object of this study is to examine the causality structure between these macroeconomic variables by using quarterly Turkish data for the period of 1987:1 to 2004:4.On this basis, first of all the theoretical framework is surveyed in the context of old and new theories. Following that, relevant empirical studies are examined and classified on the basis of used data set and empirical method. Finally, a causality analysis is performed and interpreted between budget deficit and inflation variables for Turkey in the light of macroeconomic developments for the given period.
