Transfer Harcamaları ve Büyüme İlişkisi: Gelişmekte Olan Ülkeler İçin Dinamik Panel Veri Analizi
Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the effect of public transfer expenditures on economic growth in developing countries. For that purpose, a data set of 27 developing countries between the period 1990-2011 is used. This study differs from previous works by using dynamic panel method. In addition, decomposition of interest expenditures from transfer expenditures, considering endogenous variables and including revenue budget to the econometric model are other different attributes of this study. As a conclusion it is found that transfer expenditures have a long term positive and statistically significant effect on economic growth in developing countries. Another finding of this study indicates that the relation is statistically insignificant in short term. It is also observed that as income levels and the share of transfer expenditures in national income increase, positive and significant relationship on economic growth weakens.
