Kadınların İşgücüne Katılımı ve İktisadi Kalkınma: U Şekilli Kadın İşgücüne Katılım Hipotezinin Heterojen Ülke Grupları İçin İncelemesi
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to perform an econometric analysis of marginalization hypothesis which predicts a U shaped relationship between female labor force participation and economic development for heterogeneous country groups. In this study, theoretical background of marginalization hypothesis was evaluated comprehensively and prominent approaches in the literature were discussed comparatively. In addition, AMG method, which incorporates econometric problems such as heterogeneity and cross sectional dependence, was implemented to estimate the relationship between female labor force participation and economic development. The results of the study indicate that AMG method estimates provide consistent results with marginalization hypothesis and the relationship between female labor force participation and economic development is under the influence of cross sectional dependence.
