Fiyat İstikrarını Sağlamaya Yönelik Enflasyon Hedeflemesi Politikaları: Türkiye Örneği
Abstract
Thefailure of exchange rate targeting and monetary targeting applied bothin developed and developing countries during 1980’s led to these countries toseek an alternative monetary policy strategy.Inflation targeting which is implemented first in New Zealandin 1990 thenapplied in many developed countries successfully and with its increasingattraction it has become an alternative monetary policy strategy for developingcountries. İt seems that the studies on inflation targeting strategy are mainly ondeveloped countries.The aim of this study is to analyze inflation targeting strategy which isimplemented by many countries in 1990’s as an alternative monetary policy andto evaluate Turkish example which is included in developing countries. In thiscontext,the impact on inflation targeting strategy on macroeconomic variables will be empirically analyzed.According to the results of these analyses, the success of inflationtar geting policy applied in Turkey will be evaluated.
