IRMAK D.E., Evaluation of the Validity and Reliability of the Turkish Adapta-tion of the "Child Activity Self-Assessment Scale (COSA)" in Children with Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, Hacettepe University Graduate School of Health Sciences, Occupational Therapy Master’s Degree Thesis, An-kara, 2021. This study was planned in order to adapt the "Child Activity Self-Assessment Scale (COSA)" into Turkish, which evaluates the perceived competence and significance levels of children in daily life occupations, and to examine the va-lidity and reliability of children with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder. 101 children with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder between 7 and 11 years of age were included in the study. Translations were made by applying the translation procedure defined by Beaton. After the scale was translated into Turkish, it was translated into English by a specialist team whose native language is English. No change in scale was made for cultural adaptation. The validity of the COSA is de-termined by the principal component analysis and criterion validity method; Its relia-bility was analyzed for internal consistency using partial credit Rasch analysis, Cronbach alpha value and item analysis methods. When the relationship of the CO-SA and SCOPE, which is the reference evaluation, was examined by Pearson analy-sis, a moderately positive correlation was found between the COSA and SCOPE (p = 0.00, r = 0.675). After the partial credit Rasch analysis, the reliability value for the weighted likelihood estimation was found over 0.70 as suggested (0.86). The scale was reduced to 7 dimensions by performing the main component analysis for the construct validity analysis of the principal component analysis. The total variance ratio explained by 7 dimensions was found to be high in terms of explaining the val-ues (%70.17). In addition, in the visualizations made using the person-item map and item characteristic curves, it was observed that the skills of the people and the item difficulties coincided. Internal consistency was found to be quite reliable for the CO-SA, perceived competence level and significance level (Cronbach's α = 0.86 and 0.77). As a result, the Turkish version of the COSA was found to be a valid and reli-able measurement tool for measuring the proficiency perception levels of children with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder in performing daily occupations and the significance level of these occupations.
