“Devereux” Okul Öncesi Ölçeğinin Uyarlanması Ve İkinci Adım Erken Müdahale Programının Etkililiğinin Değerlendirilmesi

Investigating the effectiveness of programs is an important step for children's social emotional development. Second Step program (SSP) aims to support children socially- emotionally. Therefore, the purpose of research is; examination of the Second Step program’s effectiveness between 36-60 months children in terms of social emotional development. In order to determine the effectiveness of SSP, the adaptation of DECA-P2 (Devereux Early Childhood Assessment P-2) scale was performed. Parents and teachers of 998 children participated in the study. To measure the effectiveness of SSP, 47 children in the experimental, 31 children in the control group participated. After the scale adaptation, it was used to measure the effectiveness of this program. A semi-experimental pattern with pretest and posttest control groups was used to examine the effectiveness of SSP. In the analysis of quantitative data, parametric and non-parametric analysis methods were used to see whether the difference between the pretest, posttest and follow-up test scores of the experimental and control groups was significant. In the findings part, positive effects of the program on the social emotional development of 36-60 months children were determined. In the sub-dimensions of assertiveness, self-regulation, attachment / relationship building, and total protective factors, results were found in favor of children who took the program. It has been found that girls score higher than boys. In the sub-dimensions, children aged 4-5 got higher scores than 3-4 years. In the results, evaluations were made about the importance of the application and how the application could be expanded.
