Abstract

This study is about Başakşehir, which is one of the most popular and modern living spaces of Istanbul, especially in the eyes of the conservative segment, although only a short period of 25 years has passed since the beginning of the construction process.Within this framework, spatial changes and transformations under the influence of neo-liberal economic policies of Başakşehir, as a living space, have been examined. In addition, the new lifestyles that emerged as a result of the transformation of the way people of Başakşehir experience their daily lives, as well as the spaces; have been discussed in the study. In this way, it is aimed to trace the gradual transition processes of the conservative segment to a more modern and consumption-oriented style within the framework of Başakşehir experience.
