Abstract

The history and the change of the disorders that may occur after trauma and trauma have been considered. The effects of trauma on art and artist were considered by examining the thinkers and sources with different perspectives.

Within the scope of this study, the answers to the questions of how it affects the art, the artist as well as the society have been tried to be taken into consideration, taking into account the trauma, the madness caused by trauma and various psychological disorders. In the direction of the resources dating from the ancient world, the concept of insanity has been examined. As a result of the researches, the underlying cause of madness, trigger and trauma, which are the leading causes, have been examined. In this regard, although it can be seen that trauma may have intensive effects on the creation process, examples are given from artists who produce works on various traumas. Social and individual traumas and subsequent ailments have been the subject of art throughout history, have been reflected in visual language and accepted. At the same time, it reveals the dilemma and obscurity by carrying the stamp character. The resulting dilemma has been the main subject of this study. It is aimed to address the uncertainty and process of trauma in the works performed without technical limitation. The diversity of the mood of the artist that changed after the trauma was emphasized. In the historical process and today, the forms of expression of individual and social trauma in art have been examined. In art works carried out in this direction, fragmentation and decrement in the approach to body image were tried and these images were brought together with uncanny natural elements.
