The related study contains the problems experienced by the monarchy and the ideas of various Spanish writers trying to understand the decline process during the period from 1600 to 1640, when the rebellions in Portugal and Catalonia were experienced in Iberia, where the Spaniards considered as their homeland. In general, in the first part of the thesis, information about decline and golden age phenomena and then, specifically Spanish Decline and different thoughts about it will be given. This part will be followed by the second part, which includes the historical process of the political history of the monarchy between 1600 and 1640. In the next part, the works written by Spanish writers to understand the situation of the monarchy are introduced and at the same time, the thoughts put forward against the decline of the monarchy will be examined. And in the last part of the thesis, the reasons for the decline described in the Spanish writers’ works will be revealed and these reasons will be evaluated in social, economic, political and cultural topics.
