Türkiye’de Halk Sağlığı Anabilim Dallarının Son On Yılda Uluslarası Literatüre Katkısının ‘‘Pubmed’’ Veri Tabanı Üzerinden İncelenmesi Araştırması
Özet
In this descriptive study, the contribution of scientific publications to the international scientific literature made by the Departments of Public Health (Turkey) between 2009 and 2019 via Pubmed database were evaluated. Assessments were conducted on the full text and/or abstract content. Articles were assessed according to a number of selected characteristics such as the number of publications, institutions of authors, research types, existence of conflict of interest, collaborative work with other disciplines, joint studies’ occurrence, etc. In addition to the general assessment of all the included manuscripts, the cross-sectional type studies were also evaluated by using the STROBE criteria. As a first stage, 3350 publications were accessed via selected keywords. Following the various stages carried out in accordance with the inclusion criteria, 975 publications were examined within the scope of the research. The number of articles in which the STROBE criteria were evaluated was 246. The most frequent study type was “descriptive” (n=377, 42.6%). The number of the articles increased by years. Manuscripts were mostly published in Turkish originated international journals. The Impact Factor values of the Journals for the last two years were between 1.5-1.99. No statistically significantly difference was found between the number of articles published by departments and the years passed since the establishment of the departments. In the assessment performed according to STROBE criteria, it was found that not all of the items were 100% fulfilled. Although there is a progress in Turkish originated international publications within the years, further improvement is needed.
