In this thesis, we consider pants decomposition of orientable Riemann surfaces. First, using the notion symplectic chain complex, we prove a new formula Reidemeister torsion of a pair of pants. By using this, we establish a new interesting formula for Reidemeister torsion of orientable Riemann surfaces (closed, bordered, punctured). Furthermore, by applying these formulas, we present a formula for computing Reidemeister torsion of compact 3-manifolds whose boundary consisting of closed orientable Riemann surfaces. We also establish a formula for Reidemeister of product of such 3-manifolds and even dimensional closed orientable smooth manifolds.
