Türkiye'deki Capoeta (Teleostei: Cyprinidae) Cinsine Ait Tür ve Alttürlerin Klasik ve Moleküler Sistematik Yöntemler Kullanılarak Revizyonu
Abstract
Within the scope of this thesis study, our aim was to revise the species and subspecies of Capoeta, which represents a problematic group with regards to systematics, by using both classic systematics and molecular systematics with the DNA barcoding method, and to determine the extent to which the new species identified to date based on small morphological differences are actually valid. Based on the obtained results, Capoeta capoeta angorae (Hanko,1924), a species initially determined based on the identification of a single individual from Pozantı, is within the variation range of Capoeta damascina (Valenciennes,1842).The genetic distance between individuals of C. damascina and C. umbla (Heckel,1843) is between 0.3% and 1.1%, and these individuals are morphologically close to one another. According to the literature, C. umbla differs from C. damascina with regards to the number of lateral line scales and 1st gill rakers.
