Mekanik Orijinli Kronik Boyun Ağrısı Olan Hastalarda Iki Farklı Fizyoterapi Yaklaşımının Karşılaştırılması
Özet
Chronic mechanical neck pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal problems. The aim of the study was to compare the short term effects of mobilization techniques with kinesiotaping application to mobilization tecniques only in patients with chronic mechanical neck pain. Fortyfour patients (36 females, 8 males, 36.93±13,79 years), who experienced neck pain more than three months were included in this study. Patients were randomly divided into two groups: Mobilization+Taping Group and Mobilization Group. Disability level (Neck Disability Index), range of motion, scapular dyskinesis(Lateral Skapular Slide Test), local muscle sensitiviy, deep neck flexor muscles endurance, headache intensity (Visual Analog Scale), neck pain intensity (Visual Analog Scale), and psychological status (Stait-Trait Anxiety Inventory) were assessed. Assesments were perfomed before treatment, immediately after, 24 hours after and one week after the treatment. Mobilization+Taping Group treated with scapular mobilization, Cyriax Mobilization, ischemic compression, Kinesio Taping. Mobilization Group was treated with scapular mobilization, Cyriax Mobilization, ischemic compression only. Results of the study showed that within group analysis showed significant differences in disability level, cervical range of motion, muscle endurance, headache and neck pain intensity (p<0.05). However there was no significant difference in none of the measured parameters between two groups (p>0.05). In conclusion, two physiotherapy approaches had similar short term effects on disability level, range of motion, muscle endurance, neck pain and headache intensity. Future study is needed to determine the long term effects of mobilization and kinesio taping tecniques in patients with chronic neck pain.
