Çocukların Hastaneye Yatmaya Bağlı Gelişen Kaygı Düzeyinin Resim Çizme Yöntemiyle Incelenmesi
Özet
This study was done to determine the rising anxiety level induced with
hospitalization of the children aged between 6-12 by the drawing method. The study
group was constituted by the children of age between 6-12 and who were hospitalized
at the Hacettepe University Ihsan Dogramaci Children's Hospital for at least 24
hours.From each age group 10 girls and 10 boys, 20 children were included in the
study with random sampling method. This study was conducted on 140 children. To
evaluate the growing anxiety in children due to hospitalization, State Anxiety
Inventory for children and Children Drawing: Hospital instrument were used.The data
obtained was examined by age, sex and disease of children and both instruments used
were evaluated by comparing with the appropriate statistical methods. Rising anxiety
levels in children depending on hospitalization were measured in terms of children's
ages. The examination showed that there was not a significant relationship between
the two instruments by age and found that there was no significant difference in level
of anxiety in terms of age. As a result, STAI was determined not to be affected by
gender and there was not a significant relationship between the two instruments in
terms of gender. However CD:H points of boys were higher than girls. Both STAI and
CD: H were determined that not affected by the disease variables. Regarding the
relationship between the two instruments in each disease group, the level of anxiety of
children with surgical diseases were low in their survey while the anxiety levels in
their drawings were high.In other disease groups, it was found that there is not any
relationship between the two instruments.In addition, according to the study results,
the CD:H may provide intuitive sense tips to assess the emotional states of children
but can not be used as a diagnostic tool.
