Özet
Crime is a phenomenon that naturally exists in society. Being a victim is not a remote possibility for individuals in their everyday lives. Individuals can be expected to be afraid of being a victim of a crime in such conditions. Fear of crime can affect the quality of life of individuals negatively. Fearful people want to provide a safe environment for both themselves and their environment. As a result individuals can exclude themselves from social life or they can spread their fear to the society. This situation affects social order negatively and therefore making the fear of crime a social problem. This study aims to investigate whether there is the fear of crime in high school students who are between 15-18 years of age and neglected by previous studies. Individual variables such as gender and age and social variables such as social-physical environment and social networks are examined to determine their effects and results on the fear of crime in the designated sample.
