Abstract

The main aim of this study was to examine the relations between obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) symptoms and schema theory’s perceived parental rearing styles withrespect to the metacognitive model of OCD in a non-clinical sample (N= 400).Accordingly, the relative contributions of metacognitive and obsessive beliefs in theprediction of OCD symptoms were examined and the mediator role of metacognitionsas well as metacognitive thought control strategies in the relationship between perceived parenting styles and OCD symptoms were investigated.
