Duygusal Olayların Hatırlanması: Bir Göz İzleme Çalışması
Abstract
The main aim of this study is to investigate the effects of the emotional content of an event and participants perspective on the memory and eye-track measurements for central and peripheral details.The data has been collected from 130 volunteer male students between 18 – 33 ages who study in Hacettepe University. Thematical photograph series which consist of 7 photographs including positive, negative and neutral with 3 different emotional version were shown to participant in the condition of own perspective or observer perspective. During the presentation of thematical photograph series participants eye movements were recorded with Tobii T120 model eye-tracking device.Participants memory measurements and eye-tracking measurements were compared for central and peripheral details.In this study, it is observed that attention isn t enough by itself for a better remembering of an emotional event and enhanced memory for negative emotional event can occur independently of attention.
