Dinitroanilin Herbisitlerin Neden Olduğu Genotoksik Etkilerin ve Epigenetik Değişikliklerin Değerlendirilmesi
Abstract
It has been shown that genetic damage has an improtant role in the mechanisms of cancer and other chronic diseases that have been observed all over the world. Recently, theory about that epigenetic changes are also responsible for the mechanisms of diseases has getting strong attention. It has been known that genetic and epigenetic changes are affected by many internal and external factors. Some of these changes can be reversible as many of them occur during embriyonic life and affect the whole life time. Herbicides, one of the external factors, have a broad application in agriculture in the whole world. Especially herbicides, such as; containing dinitroaniline group, pendimethalin and trifluraline hve been widely used in our country. In this study, the genotoxic and epigenetic potential of dinitroaniline herbicides pendimethalin and trifluralin on Chinese Hamster Lung Fibroblast Cell Line-V79 were investigated. Effects of resveratrol on the epigenetic were also examined, a strong antioxidant compound. According to the results, pendimethalin and trifluralin induced genotoxicity as evaluated by comet and micronucleus assays. They also altered the levels of expression of DNA methyltransferases and histone deacetylases, resveratrol treatment partially normalized of these effect however resveratrol lead to some changes in the expression levels was determined.
