Sınıf Iı Bölüm 1 Ve Sınıf Iı Bölüm 2 Olgularda Erken Dönemde Transvers ve Sagital Düzeltim Sonrasında Temporomandibuler Eklem ve Dentofasiyal Yapılarda Meydana Gelen Değişikliklerin 3 Boyutlu Olarak Değerlendirilmesi
Abstract
The aim of this study was to assess the temporomandibular joint and the dentofacial structures 3 dimensionally after correction of dental factors that can restrict mandibular growth by using Quad-helix and utility arches in Class II division 1 and Class II division II patients and to compare the changes occured in Class II division 1 and Class II division 2 patients. 14 Class II division 1 subjects were created Group I, 14 Class II division 2 subjects were created Group II. In the treatment Quad-helix was used for maxillary expansion and utility arches were used for intrusion (Group I) or protrusion and intrusion (Group II) of upper incisors. After adequate maxillary arch width and acceptable upper incisor inclinations were obtained, the patients were followed up for average 6 months. From all patients, intraoral and extraoral photographs, plaster models and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images were taken at the beginning of the treatment and after follow-up period. In conclusion, mandibular dimensions were increased more in Group II. From the maxillary skeletal measurements, SNA angle showed increase in Group I and convexity value was decreased in Group II. In Group I, upper molars were extruded. In Group II, upper and lower incisors were protruded and upper incisors were intruded. No difference was observed in the condylar position within the mandibular fossa or in the condylar dimensions. In all subjects, mandibular fossa depth and condyle positions were symmetrical both at the beginning and at the end of the treatment.
