Sanat Kurumu Derneği: 1948-2023 Yılları

Abstract

The association which is the subject of this thesis was founded in 1948 as the Art Lovers Club in order to organise cultural and artistic activities in a locale that brings together art lovers and artists, was reorganised as association in 1952 and became the Art Lovers Association, and from 1981 onwards its name was changed as Art Society Association has been actively working in the field of culture and arts in Ankara over the years. The Art Society Association has organized various cultural and artistic events and meetings from different disciplines in line with its objectives. Starting from the 1964-1965 art season, they began giving theater awards, which they diversified over the years to facilitate the discovery of young artists, reward masters, and honor individuals and institutions that support culture and arts. The Art Society Association has become an important meeting place for art lovers and artists in Ankara and has organized a wide variety of events that have nurtured multiple generations in the field of culture and arts for many years. Within the scope of the thesis, the seventy-five-year period of the Art Society Association between 1948 and 2023 and the transformations it underwent during this period have been focused on. Additionally, the cultural and artistic activities organised by the Art Society Association and the areas in which it has been active have been researched and presented comprehensively. Finally, the effects of the association's organized events on the Ankara art scene have been investigated.
