Abstract
Turkey is one of the candidate countries for European Union (EU). In this study,
Turkish public libraries have been compared with European Union countries'
public libraries on the base of quantitative elements like library number, collection, staff, librarian and user. As a result, Turkish public libraries are seen quite
insufficient according to EU's public libraries.
