Abstract
The connection between Kyriarchism, 'alaivariism,' and art, which I explored throughout my master's degree, emerged as a result of my observations of the geography in which I lived and my readings. Kyriarchism, from a perspective grounded in the relationship between power and art, explored the concept of domination and its connection to violence and apathy. The impact of the issue of domination experienced in Western and Middle Eastern societies on these societies was observed, and Bourdieu's argument that the state or school are the institutions through which the principles of domination are developed and imposed (Bourdieu, 2023, p. 15). Based on his discourse, the functions of these structures were considered, and the work in Figure 7 was produced as a basis for this discourse. The work is explained by including works by artists from Turkey and international platforms who address issues of power and domination, and whose work aligns with my own. By touching on my own practical work in this vein, the relationship between the concepts of kyriarchism, patriarchy, power, religion, cynicism, and domination is examined.
