Abstract

When the development process of graphic design is examined, it is observed that new production areas have emerged in recent years. In the area of interactive design, it is thought that the interface design (UI / UX), which is based on user experience, is at the top of the order of importance. User-friendly interface designs in this type of design can be made entirely by considering the user experience. The purpose of planning these designs that can be integrated with the application software is to be able to provide a design that will provide the easiest way to access information to the end user. In this thesis, the general user experience and how a good interface design should be planned is examined. In the first chapter, the historical development process of the interface design is examined and this transition process has been evaluated by considering the chronological importance in the cause-effect relationship. In the second chapter, what influences the user experience is examined. In addition, methods for improving the user experience have also been mentioned. In the third chapter the existing interface designs are examined. These interface designs are categorized and presented to the end user. In the fourth chapter, methods for interface design are proposed. In this context, analysis, design requirements, trial processes and application stages are mentioned. Finally, in the fifth chapter, an example of Hacettepe METASİS (Graduate Follow-up System) was designed in light of the data obtained from the development process studies of the application interface design.
