Partikül Bazlı Sıvı Kromatografisi Kolonlarında Transport Modellerinin Kaşılaştırmalı Olarak İncelenmesi
Özet
Within the scope of the thesis, the Ideal Model (IM), Equilibrium Dispersive Model (EDM) and Random Walk Model (RWM) which are used in the literature as transport models for high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) are examined in detail. Modified Equilibrium Dispersive Model (MEDM) is developed based on these models. There are mainly two components in HPLC columns. One of them is the mobile phase which is liquid and the other is the stationary solid phase. The solid phase forming material is composed of spherical and porous particles. In order to better understand the effects of these particles on the separation performance, a unitless multiplier, which expresses the particle's specific properties, the specific surface area and the particle porosity, has been proposed. The unitless multiplier is used in MEDM. The obtained models were solved by using finite difference technique which is one of numerical solution methods. The finite difference method has been preferred because the problem is two dimensional, provides ease of programming and gives high accuracy results. In the scope of the comparison, it was also examined and solved in RWM. The results obtained consistent with the literature.
