Neşet Ertaş Türkülerinde Söz ve Ezgi Uyumu

Abstract

Neşet Ertaş is one of the most well known representatives of Turkish Folk Music in general and in Abdal music tradition in particular. In this study, Neşet Ertaş's türkü-s were examined in terms of conformity between lyrics and melody. In the study, the life of Ertaş, the period in which he lived and the music culture in the society and his place in the tradition of Turkish Folk Music were also mentioned.

The research consisted of türkü-s which were attributed to Neşet Ertaş as source person in TRT’s Turkish Folk Music repertory and played and sung by Ertaş. 25 türkü-s from selected among these are formed the sample of the research. Their lyrics and musics belong to Neşet Ertaş, this were determined with some published documents. It has been confirmed that 25 türkü-s have prominence from various audio recordings.

Neşet Ertaş's türkü-s which were selected as sampling in this study, were analyzed comparatively in terms of lyrics and music form and the comformity of these relations.

As a result of the analysis on the related sheet music, it was determined that there was a comformity relationship between the lyrics and melody structures of 25 türkü-s.
