Tek Taraflı Kemiğe İmplante İşitme Cihazı Kullanıcılarında Temporal İşlemleme Becerilerinin Değerlendirilmesi

Auditory temporal processing can be defined as the perception of sound or the alteration of sound within restricted or defined time domain. Acoustic characteristic of speech stimulus and hearing in noise can be effected with people having hearing loss which damages at different localizations of auditory pathway. So that hearing rehabilitation could be necessary. The aim of hearing rehabilitation is to translate the speech information clearly to the cortex. However the audiograms aren't enough to asses high level temporal processing skills such as frequency, amplitude, localization of sound stimulus. The aim of this research was to identify temporal processing abilities in bone anchored hearing aid users and asses the correlation between the ability of temporal processing and speech in noise performance. 17 bone anchored hearing aid user as a working group and 29 normal hearing subjects were compared as regard to Frequency Pattern Test, Duration Pattern Test and Hearing in Noise Test. Besides behavioral temporal processing tests, MMN was also performed to asses objective sound discrimination accuracy at the cortical level irrespective of the subjects's attention or behavioural task. Normal hearing adults and working group are aged between 30-39, 40-49, 50-63. The results showed that 30-39 and 40-49 aged group have poor temporal processing ability and hearing in noise performance (p<0.05). 50-63 aged group had statistically significant differences about hearing in noise test (p<0.05), but there was not any differences were observed in temporal processing abilities between normal hearing adults and working group (p>0.05). The results of the Multi-feature MMN paradigma showed that bone anchored hearing aid users could perceive the differences of frequency, duration, intensity and gap in the middle of the tone. But no response was elicited about location of sound parameter. In addition significant correlation was not founded between temporal processing skills and speech in noise performance in bone anchored hearing aid users.
