This research, is designed to study the method of playing double bass techniques
written by Lajos Montag, who is regarded as one of the most significant
pedagogues and virtuosos of the instrument, and aims to determine what technical
teachings and methods the double bass students at the beginner level should
acquire to learn the instrument and thus move along. It has also been aimed to
discover the conveniences and advantages of this method which was primarily
written for the beginner level in double bass training both for educators and

Bu çalışmada, kontrabasın önemli pedagog ve virtüözleri arasında kabul edilen
Lajos Montag’ın kontrabas çalım teknikleri üzerine yazmış olduğu metot
incelenerek, kontrabasa başlangıç düzeyindeki öğrencilerin hangi teknik öğreti ve
yöntemler doğrultusunda enstrümanı öğrenmesi ve ilerlemesi gerektiği
amaçlanmıştır. Aynı zamanda başlangıç düzeyi için yazılmış bu metodun,
eğitimciler ve öğrenciler açısından kontrabas eğitiminde sağlayabileceği kolaylık ve
