Journal of Sivas folklore edited by Ibrahim ASLANOGLU and local researchers. The journal issued regularly every month Since February 1973. However, this journal broadcast life lasted seven years. During that time, a total of 78 issues were published. The last issue published in July 1979. At the request of ministry of cultural affairs, the journal of Sivas folklore was distributed province wide. Due to lack of subscriber and financial problems, the journal name changed to the Turkish folklore. In this way, the local folklore journalism switched to the public folklore journalism. Training of some local folklore researcher in turkey, the journal of Sivas folklore undertaken school mission and also it has become a pioneer resource for the local folkloric studies. In this field, local folklore researchers collecting were shed light for academic studies and research conducted. By force of study about poems bring in minstrel and literary works for Turkish folklore. Thus, lead up to researches to be carried out in the later years. In this journal studies show that, the local folkloric research conducted every county of Sivas province and neighboring province. After closed off the journal of community center, the Sivas folklore journal has filled this gaps and made important contribution to the development of the local folklore research. As a result, in this thesis tried to studies traditional folklore research development process within the scope of sivas folklore.
