Özet
İt is explicitly observed that traditional cultures have recently begun to keep pace and comply with the rapid changes and the emerging developments in digital communication technologies which have significantly influenced nearly all domains of the everday life over the last decade. These kind of oppurtinities and posibilities that the techno-cultural world offers interest folklore studies as well in many aspects because the communication technologies in general terms and the internet in specific manner have lately become the primary component of the folkloric production, transmission and consumption mechanism. İn addition to this, many new, creative and hybrid cultural expressions that are momently reproduced, transmited and consumed among users on virtual platforms have some folkloric qualities. Especially, the cultural productions which are usually perceived as capitalist imitations of traditional practices or products and generally termed as “folklorism”, “folklorismus” or “fakelore” are mostly used by internet users, who share common techno-social living spaces, in communication, interaction, artistic expression and entertainment functions. İn brief; in this study which regards contemporary cultural expressions that are generated by interpreting, adapting or appropriating of the “first hand folklore” or traditional culture as a folkloric production category; which proceeds according to an eclectical research model in which textual, contextual and functional perspectives intertwine has been tried to reveal holistically why and how “digital natives” consciously or unconsciously make use of traditional cultures as a reserve or a frame of reference when they interact with each other in the specific cultural contexts on cyberspace.
