This study, which aims to identify the Turkish language needs of Syrian adults under temporary protection in Türkiye, examines their motivations for language learning and the challenges they encounter during the learning process. A mixed-methods approach was adopted in the study, and data on language use, difficulties faced, and areas of need were collected through questionnaires, focus group discussions, and semi-structured interviews. Based on the collected data, the fundamental language needs of Syrian adults in their daily lives were highlighted. The findings indicate that the existing language teaching programs are insufficient for Syrian adults. Furthermore, it was determined that the primary language needs of adults are shaped around daily life interactions and professional terminology. The study reveals that language barriers encountered in social and professional life cause anxiety among adults, which in turn delays the learning process. This research emphasizes that language teaching programs should be flexible and structured according to the practical needs of the target group.
