The present study aims to analyze Mongolian verb compound structures in terms of grammaticalization theory, to explain the nature of Turkish-Mongolian language relations in this context. These verb structures, formed by verb+converb+verb /verb+verb combinations and tendentiously markers of grammatical categories such as action, aspect, and modality, are selected from historical and contemporary examples of Mongolian and analyzed within the framework of grammaticalization theory. The structure of the study is as follows: an introduction, a discussion of grammaticalization theory, a presentation of verb compounds in Mongolian, a conclusion, and a bibliography. The introduction is a preliminary to the systematics of the thesis, and the first chapter provides the study's theoretical basis by discussing grammaticalization theory within the scope of its basic concepts, parameters, stages, and principles. Additionally, the study incorporates the sub-field of contact-induced grammaticalization as a constituent of grammaticalization. The second part of the study examines verb combinations in Mongolian. The verbs identified in this section are evaluated based on their concept areas, grammaticalization processes, and the new grammatical categories they have developed, along with their verb compound structures. The employment of historical comparative analysis has enabled the identification of grammaticalization processes such as de-grammaticalization, de-categorization, and erosion, which have been observed in verbs forming verb compounds in both languages. These verbs were initially independent lexical units; however, they have evolved to become functional elements within the grammatical field, concurrently forming compound structures as a means of new vocabulary production in the language.
