EnerjiSA Energy Production A.S. Tufanbeyli Lignite Power Plant operated by Tufanbeyli
is located between Taşpınar-Kayarcı Decile-Yamanlı villages in Adana (Tufanbeyli) and
has a capacity of 450 MW. the power plant, consisting of 3 units, produces about 3.375
GWh of electricity annually using 2 tons/MWh of lignite.
Within the scope of this thesis, EnerjiSA Energy Production A.S. the resource estimation
and thermal value calculations of the coal veins in the Phase 1 field from the coal
production areas named as Phases 1, 2 and 3 were carried out by the.
The database, which was created based on the existing drilling logs in the Phase 1 area,
has been reorganized with the newly completed drilling operations and also the control
studies carried out on site at the site. Data analysis studies were carried out and coal
thickness values were determined by geostatistical variograms. Taking into account the
impact distances of the coal veins determined from the models produced from three dimensional variograms; separate resource estimates for the coal veins belonging to
sequences A, B and C at the Phase 1 site and calculations of the thermal values of the
blocks created for these veins were performed.
As a result, a resource estimate of 36,2 Mton with an average thermal value of 1170
kcal/kg was made in the Phase 1 area.
