2000 Sonrası Türk Gençlik Edebiyatında Ergenlik Temsilleri
Özet
In this thesis titled " Representations of Adolescence in Post-2000 Turkish Youth Literature After ", the focus is on the adolescence representations of the characters in the works written after 2000, in which we can follow the adolescence processes of the characters. In our study, 21 works written by important names of youth literature, in which we can follow the adolescence processes of an adolescent character, were examined. During adolescence, individuals undergo significant changes. Adolescence, one of the fastest developmental processes of human life, has always been an important age range in terms of youth literature, despite all its complex structure. This situation has enabled the inclusion of characters with typical adolescent characteristics in youth literature.
Our study consists of two main parts. In the first part, developmental psychology theories are discussed in order to better analyze the changes and transformations experienced by individuals during adolescence. Here, the physical, cognitive, moral and personality developments of adolescents are examined in the light of the works of important developmental theorists such as Jean Piaget, Lev Vygotsky, Sigmund Freud, Erik Erikson and Lawrence Kohlberg. In the second part, the changing behaviors and psychosocial situations of the main and side adolescent characters in the 21 novels we identified are classified in the light of their physical, cognitive, social and moral development in the context of the changes we discussed in the first part. The states of adolescence that the characters in the works represent through their attitudes towards themselves, others, the environment and events are discussed. These representations of adolescence are shaped around three main headings. These; adolescents' approaches to themselves, their approaches to their bilateral relations, and their approaches to social situations. We also classified the situations represented by the adolescents in the works as characters around these relationship networks we determined, on the basis of subheadings. Representations of adolescence that can be seen during adolescence have been identified by focusing on issues such as how the attitudes and behaviors of adolescents are reflected to the reader, and how the developmental change processes unique to adolescence affect the works. It is seen that the adolescence period, with all its complex structure, constitutes an important part of youth literature.
