Bir Antik Kent Okuması: Ankyra'nın Roma İmparatorluk Döneminde Mekansal Düzenlemesi Üzerine Bir Değerlendirme
Özet
During the reorganization of Ankyra as a Roman province in 25 BCE, the city began to be constructed as part of an architectural program. The provincial governance ideology of Rome, which was integrated into the urban character built upon a diverse historical heritage, designed public space as a domain for creating legitimacy, similar to central administrative cities of Rome. When examining the elements that facilitated the approval of society, it becomes evident that local elites and the ruling class significantly contributed to the urban landscape. Each architectural structure in Roman Ankyra transformed into a stage where embodied ideologies were enacted. This mutual interaction and nourishment were evaluated in the context of political landscape particularly concerning the city of Ankyra. In this study, to understand the patterns and social structure within urban design frameworks and make these relationships visible, while incorporating sociology as a parameter in urban development was examined using Space Syntax Analysis.
