Özet
It is known that folk music collection works were carried out in order to recognize, understand and explain their own folk music and culture and to build a national music on the basis of folk music in Türkiye. Folk music collection works were carried out by Ankara State Conservatory between 1937-1952 are among these collection works. Folk music tunes were collected from all over Türkiye. Collection records, sound recordings and photographs about collections are held at Ankara State Conservatory Folklore Archive.
This thesis aims to reveal ethnographic data on collection records in Ankara State Conservatory Folklore Archive and topics ethnographic data are about. Document analysis and literature review methods are used. Lyrics of musical works and information notes were analysed in a sampling of 911 collection records. Data were found were classified and coded with MAXQDA. It is seen data are about instruments, cultural structure and geography. Data about instruments are about instrument names, physical features of instruments, materials used to make instruments and instrument performance. Data about cultural structure are about aşıklık tradition, languages and accents, feelings, economy, clothes, daily life, folk literature, law, beliefs, musical practices, cuisine, folk dances, death, rituals, history, technology, political and social structure. Data about instruments are about settlement, region, landform, river and sea names, landmarks, animal and vegetation species. Analysed data are illuminated Türkiye in 1937-1952 period and interregional cultural similarities. In addition, it is seen that the data obtained can be a source for many new studies.
