The theory called "intertextuality" emerged after the 1960s as a theory that questions the interaction, exchange and originality between works. He tried to reveal to what extent writers and poets relied on the sources they read while producing their works and what effect these sources had on their literary personalities.
In this study, by touching on Attilâ İlhan's world of poetry and starting from his reading world, the first poetry book, duvar, has been tried to be examined in the context of intertextuality methods and the presence or absence of methods has been tried to be determined. In order to understand the richness of the poet's poetry world, it has been enriched with examples other than the poetry book, which is the subject of this study, and it is aimed to be a source for future studies after his first book. The aim of this study is to better understand and explain the poems of the great poet who left his mark on Turkish literature with his literary personality.
In the first part of the study, Attilâ İlhan's place in the general literary world and the sources he read were tried to be given, and the basis on which these sources were determined was referenced with examples taken from the poet's other poetry books. In the second part, all the poems in the main poetry book are tried to be examined and the methods of the theory are revealed.
While making all these determinations, the poet's conversations, interviews, letters, thought books he wrote about some ideas, and studies about the poet during his lifetime, especially his poetry books, were taken as sources.
