Abstract

Little is known about emergency department presentations of the patients with rheumatological diseases. From 01.10.2014 to 30.04.2015, 207 patients admitted to the Adult Emergency Department of the Hacettepe University (195 with known rheumatological disorder, 12 with new diagnosis) were enrolled into the study. The mean age of the patients was 50,4 18,1; 72% were female and 28% were males. The most common rheumatological disease among the participants was romatoid artritis. The most common symptoms at presentation were abdominal (25,6%) and respiratory complaints (22,7%). Sixty-one percent of the patients were assigned T4 and 38% T3 codes after triage.
