Tarihsel Süreç İçerisinde Kendi Kaderini Tayin Kavramının Değişen İçerik ve Tatbikatı
Özet
Although the concept of self-determination is expressed in the dominant narrative as societies will decide and determine their own future, the content and application of the concept are transformed historically as a result of the dynamics of accumulation, the effect of relations established with production relations and the structure of politics.
In this thesis, it is claimed that the concept of self-determination has a meaning and content in a way that enables micro-nationalist formations to be given political powers by imperialist states in the neoliberal period. However, in the thesis, it is argued that micro-nationalist formations are also committed to transferring their collective wealth to the capitalist center and are giving up their own sovereignty in favor of the imperialist capitalist center states by carrying the demand of the outside to the inside.
While the concept of self-determination has acquired different contents in connection with the dynamics of capital accumulation and the structure of global power relations in the global power relations of the 20th century, its legal and sociological definition and application have also changed.
From the theoretical standpoint of this thesis, the concept of self-determination is not a natural right. It is an interest in which imperialist legal mechanisms are conditionally protected. The processes by which the concept finds its meaning are historically determined within the objective relations of production. The study of the concept of self-determination in periods is always up-to-date as it is an effort to express the political economy dimension of the debates in which concepts such as "micro-nationalist movements", "wars of freedom", "terrorism" and "sovereignty" are used.
While this thesis examines the content and transformation of the legal phenomenon called self-determination within the context of the dynamics of capital accumulation and the global power relations associated with it, it will proceed by focusing on the problems that arise during the use of the concept that is incompatible with imperialist practices, and will discuss the possibilities that legal forms can offer in the context of global power relations. In this context, in his doctoral thesis, the content of the concept has been transformed in the neoliberal period, and as can be seen in the example of the micro-nationalist formations in Syria, the object of imperialist policies is that in return for giving up their collective natural wealth in favor of the capitalist central states, using their sovereignty within the borders drawn for them, and similar situations, these formations have taken on a content that serves to achieve some interests, it is claimed that they are and that they have renounced their sovereignty at this point.
