Coğrafya Merkezli Okuma Işığında Kemal Bilbaşar'ın Romanlarının Değerlendirilmesi

In this study, Kemal Bilbaşar’s novels were examined with the geography-centered reading method, which deals with the places of the works in a wide scope as geography within the framework of the relationship between literature and geography. In these examinations, the aouthor analyzes which geographies are used as locations in his novels, the effects of his life experiences on the reasoning for his preferences about locations, and the aspects of the geographies covered. In the introduction part of the study, the connections between the disciplines of literature and geography are explained, and the main outlines of the geography-centered reading method and the main studies in this field are mentioned. In the first section, it is examined how the space reflected in the works is perceived in the mind, then the life geography is written. In which the author’s life story is told by centering on the geographies where the author has been for various reasons. In the second part, the elements of physical and human geography in the novels were indentified based on the research areas of geography science, and the functions of the indentified elements in the novels were analyzed by establishing their connections with the author’s life geography. In the conclusion section, it was determined that Kemal Bilbaşar benefited from his life experience to a great extent while choosing the places to be covered in his novels, and that he fictionalized the information about the geographies that he did not experience by living as a result of his research on those geographies. As a result of the study, it has been concluded that Kemal Bilbaşar’s novels have a wide variety of geographical regions, that he strives to deal with the geographies he deals with as a whole with their pysical and human elements, and that he frequently includes traces from the geography of life in his novels.
