Abstract

Throughout their lives, individuals may be subjected to violence and bullying based on their physical appearances in different time periods. Similarly, the elements of bullying and violence I have experienced have been a significant factor in shaping my individual artistic practice. This situation I have endured suggests that my body can be defined as the "other" body. The problem of positioning my body as the "other" within society and the need for it to be shaped by authorities form the general framework of the thesis. In the research conducted and the works produced, the body, considered through the state of being the "other," is associated with abjection and conditions of imperfection. In the context of this thesis, the positioning of the female and animal body, deemed as deviant by authoritarian structures and subjected to domination, in art and daily life has been examined. The approaches of other artists to this issue have been scrutinized, and artistic productions have been created in this context.
