Türk Romanında Ensest (1990-2010)
Özet
The aim of this thesis titled "Incest in Turkish Novel (1990-2010)" is to show the reflection of incest, as a type of sexual abuse, in Turkish novel from the beginning to the present and to reveal the ways incest is handled through different novels. In the introduction, the concepts of sexual abuse, incest, endogamy and exogamy are defined with their sociological and anthropological aspects. In the first chapter, based on these concepts, a theoretical framework was created by revealing the types of incest, risk factors in incest and sexual abuse, the reasons why incest does not occur, and finally the effects of incest and sexual abuse. In the second chapter, the appearances of incest in Turkish novels are examined by examining thirty-four novels. It has been tried to elucidate the approaches of the writers who deal with the phenomenon of incest and sexual abuse in their works from the beginning of the Turkish novel until today. In the third chapter, Turgut Özakman's novel Korkma İnsancık Korkma, as an example of novels dealing with incest and sexual abuse in Turkish fiction, was examined in the context of aunt-nephew incest. The fourth chapter includes the evaluation of the novel Yeşil, written by İnci Aral, within the framework of uncle/nephew and also stepfather-daughter incest. The fifth chapter consists of examining the multiple incest phenomenon seen in Sen Gülerken, written by Ayşe Özmen. The sixth chapter covers the evaluation of brother-sister incest and different forms of sexual abuse in Şebnem İşigüzel's novel titled Kirpiklerimin Gölgesi. Four novels published between 1990 and 2010 were examined, based on their plots, under the headings of risk factors that pave the way for incest to occur, reasons why incest does not occur, mother-daughter relationships, effects of incest, other manifestations of incest and sexual abuse, and social criticism.
