İntravitreal Tedavi Uygulanan Diyabetik Maküler Ödemli Hastalarda Optik Koherens Tomografi Parametrelerinin Prognostik Değeri

Gunel Hajıbalayeva. Prognostic Value of Optical Coherence Tomography Parameters in Patients With Diabetic Macular Edema Who Received Intravitreal Treatment, ANKARA 2023
This study was carried out retrospectively between January 2023 and July 2023 at Hacettepe University Medical School Department of Ophthalmology. The study included 143 eyes of 107 patients treated for diabetic macular edema. Patients were divided into three groups according to the type of intravitreal treatment: Patients who received only intravitreal ranibizumab were classified as Group 1, patients who received only intravitreal aflibercept were classified as Group 2, and patients who were subsequently switched to intravitreal dexamethasone treatment were considered Group 3. The basic demographic information of the patients (age, gender), baseline HbA1c value, the number of injections during the study, in the groups receiving ranibizumab and aflibercept injection treatment, at the time they first applied to our clinic, after three injections, 6. and 12. month and in the group receiving dexamethasone implant treatment, before the steroid treatment, at the 12th month and at the 18th month follow-up changes in optical coherence tomography (OCT) findings (OCT inflammatory biomarkers, central retinal thickness) and best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) were recorded. OCT data were obtained by spectral domain OCT (SD-OCT) (Heidelberg Spectralis, Heidelberg, Germany). Central retinal thickness, presence and number of hyperreflective spots in the central 1000 μm area, presence and number of hard exudates in the central 1000 μm area, the presence and number of cystic edema in the central 1000 μm area, two-dimensional measurement of the largest intraretinal cyst in the central 1000 μm area, serous macular detachment, epiretinal membrane (ERM), disorganization of retinal inner layers (DRIL), damage to ellipsoid zone were recorded.
Group 1 and Group 2 were compared both within themselves and with each other at all time points. Group 3 was evaluated within itself. The prognostic values of the OCT parameters were reviewed by looking at the correlation between the final

BCVA and central retinal thickness change and the initial inflammatory OCT biomarkers of the patients included in all three groups.
