İntrakraniyal Kanama Nedeniyle Ameliyat Olan Hastaların Fonksiyonel Bağımsızlık Düzeyleri ve Depresif Belirtilerinin Yaşam Kalitesi ile İlişkisi
Özet
This study
was conducted in a descriptive and relational type in order to determine the
relationship between functional independence levels and depressive symptoms of
patients who underwent surgery for intracranial hemorrhage and quality of life. The
study was carried out in Gülhane Training and Research Hospital and Hacettepe
University Adult Hospital Brain and Neurosurgery Clinic between May 2021 and
December 2022. The sample of the study consisted of 91 patients. "Descriptive
Information Form", "Nottingham Health Profile", "Functional Independence
Measure" and "Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale" were used to collect data.
“Introductory Information Form” was applied to the patients on the first day of their
clinical hospitalization, and the other three scales were administered one month after
discharge. The mean score of the patients for the first part of the Nottingham Health
Profile was 294.76±147.21; Functional Independence Scale mean score was
83.95±33.98; The mean score they got from the depression dimension of the Hospital
Anxiety and Depression Scale was found to be 9.76±4.65. It was determined that the
quality of life increased with the increase in the level of functional independence of
the patients, and the quality of life decreased with the increase in depression levels.
Research results show that quality of life is related to functional independence and
depression levels; showed that there was no correlation between gender, age,
bleeding site and quality of life. In line with the results of the research, it is
recommended that the evaluation of functional independence level and depressive
symptoms affecting the quality of life in patients who underwent surgery for
intracranial hemorrhage should be performed by a multidisciplinary team in the long
term.
