Çocuk ve Ergenlerde Süt ve Daimi Azı Dişlerinde Hipomineralizasyon ve Taurodontizm Prevalansının Belirlenmesi
Özet
This study was conducted to evaluate the presence of taurodontism in individuals with Molar-Incisor Hypomineralisation (MIH). 182 individuals with MIH, aged 6-14 years, who met the inclusion criteria, were included in the study group. On the other hand, 289 individuals with healthy enamel structure were included in the control group. Chi-square Test and Mann-Whitney U Test were used for statistical analysis. The mean age of the individuals was determined as 10.5 years for the study group and 10.8 years for the control group. Statistical analyzes concluded that taurodontism was significantly higher in the study group (35.2%) compared to the control group (22.1%) when evaluated at the patient level (p=0,015). The percentage of taurodontism in the mature permanent first molars (22.5%) affected by MIH in the study group was higher than the teeth with healthy enamel structure (11.5%) in the control group (p<0,001). However, taurodontism percentages were similar between groups for immature permanent first and second molars.
