In the years following the Second World War, it has been witnessed that significant changes have taken place in the community life in Turkey. Before the war, newspapers and magazines in Turkey published articles about describing the lives of Hollywood stars and European society. However, after the Second World War, it was also begun to include news about Turkish community life in newspapers and magazines. Publications that include Turkish community life became widespread after 1950. In the sources which were examined, it is seen that the community news is especially concentrated on Istanbul and Ankara. Therefore, the study emphasizes the community life of Istanbul and Ankara.
Within the scope of the study, it is covered who the society consists of in Istanbul and Ankara and how they are included in the society. In addition to this, it has been tried to show what kind of lifestyle the society has. In addition, the reflections of the mentioned life in the private and public sphere have been shown through the activities carried out by the society. In addition, who are the fashion determinants in high society and how they direct fashion are also among the topics covered in the thesis.
Finally, within the scope of the study, it is emphasized how the non-Muslim people in the Turkish society were affected by the Wealth Tax Law enacted in 1942 and the developments in the 6-7 September Events in 1955.
