Abstract

The application of professional football player transfer, which expresses the club change of professional football players, appears in different ways. There is no legal regulation about the professional football player transfer agreement that is frequently used in practice to transfer football players. In this study, the rights and obligations brought by the professional football player transfer agreement to the contracting parties are discussed. Although there are many different types of football player transfer, in this study, the rights and obligations of the parties are discussed based on the professional football player transfer agreement concluded between the relevant clubs and the football player in order for the football player to change club definitively and permanently. In this context, first of all, the legal nature of the professional football player contract was determined and compared with other contracts. After examining the relations between the parties of the transfer agreement, the responsibilities and the rights that the professional football player transfer agreement imposes on the parties are explained.
