Özet
This study aims to analyze the columns about Atatürk and Kemalism through the examples of the printed media published in Turkey between the era of 1960-1971. In this context, together with an introduction that presents the conceptual framework and roots of the thesis work, the events that took place in the few years just before the May 27, 1960 coup are explained in the first chapter. In the content of this section, the differences in the views of the government and the opposition on basic issues and the titles that create tensions have been tried to be explained. In the second part of the thesis, the general view of the Turkish press after the May 27, 1960 coup, the local and national approach to the coup, and its explanations about the proceedings after the coup were discussed. The third part is the part where the examinations of the written press archive of this thesis work. Ideology analogies made in the context of Atatürk and Kemalism, attempts to position Atatürk and Kemalism in the political spectrum are presented in this section. In the fourth and last chapter, the thesis study was completed with a conclusion by looking at the echoes of the 12 March Memorandum, which closed the aforementioned period, in the Turkish press.
