Türk İllüstrasyonuna Minyatür'ün Etkisi ve Çağdaş Bir Uygulama

Abstract

Miniatures are defined as the paintings, motifs and architectural works, whose examples could be seen in Europe, Anatolia, Far East and Mesopotamia, representing the painting art of the Islamic world between the 13th and 19th centuries. It is said that the Ottoman State and the Ottomans also called them embroidery. Illustration, on the other hand, refers to the art of painting which depicts composition contexts which are difficult to construct experimentally, exaggerated or unusual to be seen in nature or everyday life. This study examines the effects of miniature culture and Islamic miniatures blended by different cultures as a result of trade and travels on the illustration work of the modern Turkish State, staring with the establishment of the Republic of Turkey.
