Özet
The arabesque music, which is expressed as an effort to announce the voice of the provincial crowd that migrated to the big cities, has combined with rap music which is a widespread youth phenomenon entered Turkey in 1995 and has created arabesque-rap music genre. Arabesque music is one of the means of creating identity and revealing the identity of an oppressed creature in the process of urbanization. Arabesque music was excluded by some certain groups, and the listener was exposed to accusations like being “lowbrow". Similarly, young people who produce arabesque-rap are excluded, and although they have a huge audiences they are accused of being “apache”. Although the discussion about arabesque seems to be over, it has left its weight to that genre. After a generation of arabesque culture, young people who could use the technology better, follow the world more closely - but still have to live with poverty. has fed on with ghetto rap music and arabesque. This generation who does not break off with the roots of arabesque genre -both musical and content- uses new media to share their songs and video clips. Although arabesque rap songs as an sub-culture, which has a constant revolt against the life, always had a bad reputation. The argument of this study is to invent who are these young people humiliated by some specific groups for producing arabesque-rap that is said to producing hollow and love songs and, what arabesque-rap tells and how.
