Rauf Mutluay'ın Eleştirmen Kimliği

Criticism is the work of judging, adjudicating and examining. During the periods of Turkish literature the words like arguing, disputation, mübahase, takriz, mukakeme, intikad are used and the latest form of criticsm has been shaped. In the republican era, on the other hand, it seen that the criticism progressed from two main branches which are totally opposed impressionistic and objective criticism. In this period, while impressionistic criticism was dominant until the 1950s, then the understanding of objective criticsm began to be seen. Rauf Mutlay is also a critic who is between subjective and impressionist criticsm and has data from both in his works. This study consist of introduction, three main parts and conclusion. In the introduction; the development of criticism until the Republic, the criticism in the Republican Era, and the position of Rauf Mutluay are discussed. In the first chapter, Rauf Mutluay’s life, his works and his understanding of criticism are included. In the second part, Mutluay’s objective critic identity has been discussed with the perspectives of his works; 100 Soruda Türk Edebiyatı, 100 Soruda XIX. Yüzyıl Türk Edebiyatı (Tanzimat ve Servet-i Fünun), 100 Soruda Edebiyat Bilgileri ve 100 Soruda Çağdaş Türk Edebiyatı (1908-1972. In the third part, due to his works, Pas Demiri Yiyor, Bende Yaşayanlar, Yaz Dersleri and Sebiller Su Vermiyor his subjective critic side has been discussed. In the fourth part, literary historiography is explained in the context of 50 Yılın Türk Edebiyatı. And, in the conclusion part, it has been determined that the Rauf Mutluay is a critic who is in the middle of the subjective and objective criticism understanding during the Republican Era.
